Vimeo PRO Account Opened to Serve Client Videos
A new client, an award-winning documentary film producer, required playing high quality videos from her site. I opened a Vimeo PRO account to provide her (and other clients) with the following advantages for videos playing from their web pages:
- HD quality video playback
- Adaptive bitrate streaming (videos start quickly, no jerkiness, if the network becomes congested or on a slow cellular connection – the video quality is automatically adjusted for best playback)
- No pre-roll ads (like YouTube puts at the beginning of videos that get a lot of play)
- Ability to “skin” the embedded player with different options, including matching the controls and text colors to those of the website
- Ability to upload a custom thumbnail (the still frame that displays when the video is not playing)
Example client pages with videos streamed from my Vimeo PRO account
(Updated 8/15/15)
- http://www.maryacfallon.com/multimedia-production/ (7 videos on this page)
- http://aninstantia.com/2014-dance-tobin-del-cuore/ (5 videos on this page)

Of course, if the client has his or her own Vimeo.com account (some do), then all the same advantages apply and I use the client account to serve the videos.
