Rebuilding this Portfolio Site
It’s been a very busy two years, during which so much client work came in that I totally neglected updating my own web design portfolio website.
No only has web design changed a great deal in the intervening two years, but the old site just didn’t translate well to use with tablets and other mobile devices.
There never seems to be a good time to rebuild my own website, start to finish, in my “spare time” while I have a full client workload and then, seemingly all of a sudden to have a “NEW WEBSITE GRAND OPENING!”
So, I decided to start with just the basic “bare bones” and build it out over time while you watched. That’s why visitors here (during the month of November) will see this ” Under Construction” message right in the site header:
Then, just to make sure that the casual surfer who came here during reconstruction would know this site was under construction, I added this notice to the home page:
No matter how you look at it,
this website is being rebuilt right before your eyes
Over the month of November 2012, this imagiNed Web Design website is being rebuilt from the ground up – page by page, post by post, image by image – to be a faster, easier to navigate, better organized portfolio showcase and most importantly, to be a “responsive design,” meaning that this new site will automatically adjust itself to your viewing platform, be that a tablet (iPad), smartphone, netbook, laptop or huge desktop display.
However, this means that for the next few weeks, this site will be missing much of the content from my old site while I attend to a fully booked client workload, then, in the background, piece by carefully polished piece, bring that old content over to this new site.
